Midwifery services at Neighborcare Health

Neighborcare Health’s Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) care for pregnant people and their families to create a birth experience that safely aligns with what the pregnant person wants and needs.

Midwifery services are available at these clinics. Please contact a clinic to get started with care:

Where do patients have their babies?

Our patients give birth at Swedish First Hill Birth Center (see a video tour through this link). The Birth Center offers patients supportive care in a comfortable environment—every room has a Jacuzzi tub, birthing ball, squatting bar, and music system.

What is a Certified Nurse Midwife?

A Neighborcare Health midwife (CNM) has gone through advanced training at a master’s or doctoral level to provide reproductive health care across a person’s lifespan, including pregnancy. They provide holistic care during pregnancy (prenatal), throughout the birth, and after your baby is born (newborn, postpartum, and routine well-person care).

We strive to reduce Cesarean-section rates (C-sections) and unneeded medical intervention. We also connect people with community resources and help them understand their health care options

Neighborcare CNMs also provide care outside of pregnancy and birth. You can see a midwife for well-person exams and Pap smears, medication for opioid used disorder (MOUD), contraception, fertility consultation, gender-affirming care, and other sexual or reproductive health care.
