What is Changing in 2026?

Beginning September 30, 2026, some individuals may see changes to their Apple Health eligibility due to provisions included in H.R. 1. If your Apple Health eligibility changes due to H.R. 1, other programs may be available depending on your circumstances.

Not everyone will be affected, and eligibility depends on individual circumstances. If you receive a notice from Washington State regarding your coverage, Neighborcare Health can help you understand what it means and identify possible next steps.

Who is Being Impacted?

  • Asylees and Refugees, Conditional Entrants, Individuals for whom Deportation or Removal has been Withheld

  • Victims of Trafficking, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)

  • Parolees, including:

    • Afghan Allies Protection Act of 2006

    • Afghans granted humanitarian parole between 7/31/21 and 9/30/23

    • Ukrainians granted humanitarian parole between 2/24/22 and 9/30/24

What Should I Do Right Now?

We recommend that you:

  • Continue using your current Apple Health coverage.

  • Keep your mailing address, phone number, and email up to date (with who/what?).
