Meridian Center for Health Update
Legislators approve $2.5 million in funding for the New the new Meridian Center for Health
At the end of June, the State Legislature voted to approve a new state budget that included $2.5 million to help fund construction of the new Meridian Center for Health! Neighborcare Health has developed key relationships and has strong support in the Washington State Legislature from Senator David Frockt, Representative Jessyn Farrell, and Speaker Frank Chopp.
“We have been working on this effort for the past two years, so it is exciting to see this included in our upcoming state budget," notes Mark Secord. "It is reassuring to know that our vision of offering integrated services—linking medical, dental, public health, specialty mental health, chemical dependency and other human services— is shared by the policy and law makers in Olympia.”
This funding goes toward our campaign to build the new, state-of-the-art facility where Neighborcare Health, Valley Cities and Public Health–Seattle and King County will offer integrated care to 14,000 people annually.
