Each year we share a story about the impact Neighborcare Health has had on our neighbors. This year we are sharing Vernee's family's story. In 2016 Neighborcare Health served more than 6,700 patients directly in their schools. With your help, we are able to create caring healthcare homes for those who need it most.

Dear Friends,

This is a difficult letter to write. You see, a few years ago one of my daughters was kidnapped and sexually assaulted.

In the aftermath, even though I wanted to keep her close, my daughter wanted to return to school as soon as possible. She wanted to be with her friends and return to a familiar routine.

As my daughter and the rest of my children struggled to recover from her horrendous assault, we discovered an amazing resource in Neighborcare Health’s in-school clinics. When they were away from me, even at school, when they needed someone to talk to, or just take a break from the day, Neighborcare Health was there. It meant the world to them and to me, to know my kids have a comfortable safety zone at school. That space is just everything.

I tell everyone I can about how wonderful the Neighborcare Health school-based clinics have been for my family. As a mother, it really matters to have that clinic in the school so that my children can get both their medical and dental care managed. Five of my six children are enrolled in them, so I know what I’m talking about. Early last year my car broke down, and with six kids I immediately thought, how am I going to get them to all of their appointments? It is so stress free to be able to get all of their needs taken care of at their school, without having to get them across town for every exam and immunization.

This work is possible because of the generosity of donors like you. Will you make a gift of $125 to Neighborcare Health today to ensure that all of our children get off to a fair start?

Thank you for helping to make our community a healthier and more vibrant place!
