Why I work at Neighborcare Health:
The staff live-out Neighborcare Health's mission and vision with such integrity and passion. They are an inspiration not only to the people we serve, but to me as well. I feel most satisfied when I hear how we have made a positive difference in the lives of the people we serve -- whether I hear in the form of a story about a single patient/client, or see it in positive trends across the populations we serve. I also feel very satisfied when one of the therapists I support is clearly growing and expanding in their work with students and families.
In addition to supporting the school-based mental health counselors at Neighborcare Health, Lisa works directly with youth (ages 4-24) and families. She works with patients doing sand tray, sword play, and other non-verbal (or less verbal) therapies. Lisa loves hearing people's stories about their lives, and witnessing as people find hope and strength during times of great struggle. Lisa is originally from the Michigan flat-lands and loves playing outside in the Seattle area: cycling, hiking, running, swimming (even in the Sound), and kayaking. She also enjoys more sedentary adventures such as playing the piano, creating very amateur art pieces, reading, writing, and most of all laughing with people.
