Why I work at Neighborcare Health:
My previous experience was in community health in Colorado, working as a PA in family practice. I enjoyed seeing the range of patients, but more importantly I enjoyed helping patients who might otherwise be unable to access health care. I saw patients who bounced from clinic to clinic, from urgent care and emergency rooms, lacking in preventive care for years and certainly lacking continuity of care for their chronic health conditions. Working in a community health clinic gives those patients a place to return for follow-up on their health care issues. I also enjoy the rapport that is built with patients over the years.

Before joining Neighborcare Health, Barbara worked with Spanish-speaking aptients at a community health clinic in Colorado for eight years. As part of her PA training, she elected to do a clinical rotation in Oaxaca, Mexico, to become more familiar with their health care system. She has also studied in Peru and Ecuador for several months. Barbara recently moved to Seattle with her husband and two children and is enjoying exploring her new city – especially Seattle’s parks for kite flying, city views and sand castle building.
