Why I work at Neighborcare Health:

Laura is originally from Washington, just north of Seattle. Before joining us at Neighborcare Health, she was a registered nurse at the University of Washington, and cared for patients on medical and surgery floors, as well as a neonatal intensive care unit.

She and her husband love the outdoors, and enjoy exploring local forests and mountains. In her spare time, she also likes to read, cook, garden, and spend time with friends and family.

Why I work at Neighborcare Health: 
The mission of Neighborcare Health resonates with my values. I believe everyone deserves access to quality medical, dental and behavioral health care. I believe a person's optimal health begins with a medical home, providing a partnership in health care decision making.
Other: 

Most recently I worked at a clinic in Tacoma serving people experiencing homelessness. We provided care at the clinic, in shelters and in low-income housing. Prior to that I worked on Vashon in family practice. 

I have lived on Vashon for more than 20 years. I grew up in California and moved to the Northwest after college. I love being outside--hiking, skiing, gardening and walking. I also love yoga, sewing, reading and cooking. My children are in college, so my husband and I are "empty nesters."

The Neighborcare Health mission and core values align with my belief that quality health care is a human right, should be accessible to all, and delivered with dignity. I work with a multi-disciplinary team of compassionate, skilled co-workers who together to provide excellent care to our patients. I love my job and enjoy getting to know the patients I serve.
Other: 

After working for several years as a Registered Nurse in neurology, intensive care, and critical care, Anna trained health care workers in Cambodia, Nepal, Mali, and Guinea for over three years. As part of her doctoral degree, she conducted a quality improvement project looking at ways to improve health care from the perspective of U.S. Veterans who are homeless in the Seattle area. She was a trainee in the Primary Care Center of Excellence at the Puget Sound VA from 2011-2014. She then completed a residency in community and rural family primary care through Community Health Clinics, Inc. and the Columbia Basin Health Association.

Anna is originally from the Midwest and enjoys skiing, kayaking, climbing, backpacking, reading and art.
